Profile

Composer, Orchestrator, and Arranger, Mariko Horikawa was born in Tokyo, Japan. She graduated from Keio University, majoring in Aesthetics and Science of Arts, and from Berklee College of Music, majoring in Film Scoring.
Mariko started playing the piano at the age of two, and received several awards since then, such as First Prize in Virginia State Competition. Recommended by professors from Berklee, Mariko started composing for Film/TV and Musical Theater, and received some awards for her original compositions. Soon after completing her studies from Berklee, Mariko moved to Los Angeles and worked as a Music Copyist for JoAnn Kane Music Service, as Orchestrator/Arranger for composer, Nathan Wang, and worked with various Blockbuster composers from Hollywood. Her work in Los Angeles includes 'Star Wars: The Last Jedai', 'La La Land', 'Namiya', and so on.
Mariko is now based in Japan, continues working on various projects from all over the world.
